Beginning the blog

Today is the first day of my blog.

I did start one once before but I didn't keep it up. I'm not that person anymore.

This is a new me, thus a new blog.

I chose to call my blog littleknownauthor because some people know me as a writer...but not many..not enough...hence the "little known".

I am an author/writer living in Sydney, Australia. I have completed my first novel and am in the process of sending it out into the universe to get published. Meanwhile, I am working on novel number two.

The second one is proving much harder to write than the first. It's altogether a far less co-operative companion. I imagine that this is what all those authors who have a wildly successful debut novel grapple with.

With the first one, honestly, regardless of the quality of it simply completing it is a triumph. You want to run through the street shouting "Look at this! Look what I did!" You don't necessarily want people to read it though - no that's quite scary - but you do want to wave your fat manuscript in their face so that they can actually see what you've been up to all this time.

On the second trip around, at least in my case, you are already dealing with rejection of the first and then there is the niggling self-doubt "perhaps I can't do it again." I think this is a rather silly notion but I can't seem to get it out of my head regardless.

So my blog is about my journey to get published. Writing. Reading and anything I think relates to that.
